In these essays I will attempt to address aspects of art practice; in reference to the history of and contemporary Art, through a philosophical lens. In this we will need to examine the ideas of a number of philosophers and their conception of reality and the human position within this. From here we will try to establish some understanding of what the intention of Art is, and what we consider to be its constitution.Broadly speaking our field of study will be the plastic arts, conceptual, and socially engaged art, and will be as much a philosophical investigation. I can’t promise coherence, just yet, as I am exploring without to much of an idea of where I’m going.
